A BIMről szóló sorozatunk első részében sok szó esett az objektum könyvtárakról. Idemásoltam egy kis listát, ahonnal paraméterezhető tárgyakat lehet letölteni. A BIM annyiban is különbözik a GDL-től, hogy a nagyobb honlapokon ugyanaz a tárgy több szoftver platformra is letölthető. Ezek persze sohasem teljesek, így gyakran fordul elő, hogy pont nem abban a változatban található meg, mint amiben mi szeretnénk.

Ezek a gyűjtemények abban is különböznek a korábbi GDL könyvtáraktól, hogy többségük konkrét gyártó konkrét termékeit tartalamazza. Közülük jópáran már elérték azt a nagyságot, hogy egyes gyártók már nem is saját honlapjukon teszik elérhetővé a letölthető objektumaikat, hanem ezekben a gyűjteményekben.
